About
Design anddevelopment belongtogether.
Rasterkern is a digital studio from Hockenheim for bespoke websites.
Design, motion and technical implementation are not treated as separate steps, but as one coherent digital system.

Approach
Not as much as possible.
Exactly what is right.
Not every project needs complex motion, video or 3D.
Sometimes the strongest solution lies in clarity, typography and a clean structure.
Elsewhere, one unusual interaction can make the decisive difference.
Rasterkern chooses design and technology according to what a website actually needs to achieve.
Personal
The person
behind Rasterkern.
Julian Becker is the person behind Rasterkern.
I create bespoke websites with a clear standard for design, structure and technical implementation.
I recently completed my training as an IT specialist for systems integration.
This technical foundation shapes my work: websites should not only look good, but also be cleanly structured, reliable and purposefully developed.
Rasterkern brings precisely these two sides together — a design perspective and technical thinking.
The result is not an off-the-shelf template, but a digital presence with a character of its own.
Technical foundation
Systems integration
as a foundation.
Training in systems integration forms Rasterkern’s technical foundation. Websites are therefore developed not only from a visual idea, but with close attention to structure, performance, precise implementation and sound technical decisions.

Principles
What guides
the work.
-
01
Individual rather than templated
Structure and design grow from the content and brief — not from a ready-made template.
-
02
Design + technology
Design and technical implementation are conceived together so that a visual idea becomes a functioning system.
-
03
Clarity before effect
Motion, video or 3D are used where they strengthen the idea — not simply because they are technically possible.
Collaboration
Direct.
Personal.
No detours.
Projects are not passed through multiple layers. Requirements, design and technical decisions remain closely connected. Collaboration is direct and tailored to the individual project.

Project
A website does not begin
with the home page.
It begins with the question of what it needs to achieve.
